Founded by Yang & Li
Yang & Li Studio is a boutique design-and-build practice based in the Klang Valley. We shape residential and small retail interiors with a quiet hand — clear plans, lasting materials, and finishes chosen for how they age rather than how they trend.
Most of our work sits within Malaysia’s denser neighbourhoods: terrace homes, condominiums, and compact shopfronts where light, storage, and circulation matter as much as atmosphere. We stay close to site, coordinating millwork, trades, and detailing so the finished rooms feel settled and unforced.
Whether a full-home renovation or a focused retail fit-out, we treat each commission as a careful collaboration — practical, measured, and built to be lived in.
Studio Timeline
2019
Practice opens
Began as a small design-and-build studio taking on residential renovations across Selangor and Kuala Lumpur.
2020
Whole-home milestone
Delivered our first end-to-end home renovation — from measured survey through millwork and handover.
2021
Beyond the home
Took on boutique retail and café interiors, carrying residential restraint into customer-facing spaces.
2022
Site capacity grows
Added a dedicated site lead so design and construction could move in closer step on larger briefs.
2023
Finish library curated
Assembled a working palette of timber, stone, paint, and textile samples for faster, clearer client decisions.
2024
Maker partnerships
Worked with local fabricators on custom cabinetry, joinery, and lighting suited to tropical homes.
2025
Clearer project rhythm
Settled a four-stage workflow — brief, concept, detailing, and site — so timelines stay readable for clients.

Studio now
